« A minority is a group differing, especially in race, religion or ethnic background, from the majority of a population.

Jonh LEWIS thinks if we isolate them they become worse and won't progress economically and socially.

Must « all move up on down together ».

On the one hand, minorities have to do all is necessary to integrate the society. In fact they have to show they exist, they are here !!! Because in this society, the majority often has all rights and power.

So that why they must struggle to be on an equal footing with them, to have the same rights, the same freedom of expression, think and speak.

In many countries, ethnic minorities are not treated well and suffer psychological damage and / or economic.

More often, they are victims of discrimination, prejudicies, exclusion and lot of violents conflicts. It is desirable that the majority population has more empathy for the suffering people.

They could help and understand them.

Let's take the fight of blacks minorities.

In United states blacks people were victims of segregation racial.

They were less paid than white people, they do menial jobs, they were denied the right to vote, blacks and whites were'nt mixt and black children couldn't go to school.

There were places reserved for the Blacks but one day Rosa PARKS refused to let her seat to a white person.

She impose oneself, she rebeled. Blacks community were represented by Marthin LUTHER KING, a man who is struggle for the rights.

Together they have successed to make them a place in the society.

Today the black community can vote, they are richer. More and more black people make politics like Barack Obama who is elected first black president in 2008. Another example, the right to vote for woman.

They moved, they defended their interests, they manifested to improve their situation.

Because if it is just only the majority which decide, it is not equal to all the population. But on the other hand, integrate minorities in our society, it's to take back works, housing to the population.

It is more expense for the country.

It is also the risk that they impose their law to a majority.

For example, the Rom's who are the largest minority in Europ, are expansive but inefficient and without lasting effects.

All that things represente a great deal of effort for the country to integrate them in education, to build them housing, to. »
