« So I'm going to speak you about the movie called Shadow Dancer .

I will explain you why I believe that Colette McVeigh , the main character, is either a good or either a bad mother or if we can say that she's a terrorist person. To introduice the subject, Colette McVeigh is a young republican widow .

She lives in Belfast with her mother and brothers , who are ardent activits of the IRA .

Later, she is arrested after a failed attack in London .

Mac, an agent of the MI5, which is the British Intelligence Service , offers her the opportunity to be released : she must spy on her own family .

If she refuses, she will spend 25 years of her life in prison and won't see her soon again.

Therefore, she will accept the offer.

So, it's from there I'm going to be able to say what she is. In a first time, we can say she is a terrorist woman because she committed an attack in London before her arrest.

So we can deduce that she's a bad mother because she also accepted the deal of Mac and thereby, she implicitely endangers all her family .

That's also elsewhere what it's going to happen to the grand-mother .

In the background, it's like if she was on a scales .

On the one hand, she has to betray her brothers like for example Kevin who killed many IRA opposants.

I precise that she's to be discreet to avoid to frustrate the scheme of Mac.

But on the other hand, Mac promised to Colette that noboby will die and nobody will get hurt. So that's why she is at a time a good mother and at a time a bad mother.

She is a bit trapped. In a second time, we can say that Colette isn't a terrorist because when she accepted the deal, Mac told her : “nobody dies and nobody gets hurt”.
