« ORAL 2 : ART AND POWER My presentation will be about art and power. Nowadays art and speeches play a important rôle in our society.

Indeed, through art or speeches we can convey a message, an opinion, an advice...

this can help people to think about personal or private situations but also about problems or debates in public life. For example, in the speech of Amanda Gorman name the hill we climb, she wanted to give a hope message.

In fact, american population was divided after the presidential election.

On the 6th of january 2021, the most violent point was reached and trump electors were doing a violent demonstration in front of the capitol. So, through her speech, she wants to make it clear to the American population that nothing is lost, certainly they are divided but they must unite again to forge a solid and unrepeatable nation.

They must restore the situation to honor all the people who fought for the country.

In short way, she said that this low is the basis of a better future. In addition, his message was very well transmitted thanks to the use of literary terms which adds a dimension of beauty to morality.

She was also able to capture the attention of the audience thanks to a strong and powerful voice. SO there is this kind of speech, written with a political aim to unite the population around a common goal.

But other types of speech exist.

Certainly much less known but which can make us think just as much.

In fact, the other day, I was scrolling on social networks and I came across a student's speech which opened my eyes to many things. Here is his speech : My mom told me this. Hate has 4 letters,but so does love. Enemies has 7 letters, but so does friends. Lying has 5 letters, but so does truth. Failure has 7 letters but so does success. Cry has 3 letters, but so does joy. And negativity has 10 letters, but so does positivity. You always have a choice.

So choose the better side of it. And from this day forward, I challenge you.... »
