« Migrations to the US began in 1815, about 30 millions of Europeans ( irish, jews, Italians,..)   came to the US during this period. For them this country was seen as the land of freedom.

  Freedom from oppression, to worship from want, fear, to create. It’s during this period that the   American dream was born. That’s what the immigrants were looking for, and are still looking for   by coming to the land of Uncle Sam, even if from 1960, we can observe a change of origin of   the people going to the us. America is the first destination of migration ‘cause people have the feeling like anything can be   achieve in the country. Moreover, America has one of the best education systems therefore   students from all over the world com to study there. We can also add, that the American   government is aware that the country is that powerful mostly thanks to the immigrants. And it   offers some possibilities that are unreachable in their homeland.   For instance Fang XI Yu came to the Us because she wanted to be a professional dancer, but   that wasn’t possible in Taiwan. So she came to the US and succeeds in having a professional   career. Nevertheless she is nostalgic about her past. That’s a difficulty immigrants can be   confronted to, the lack of our relatives and our home country. On the other hand, expect to   have all their dreams come true the second they set foot in the country but they unfortunately   see their hopes crumbling, they can’t find jobs, they are rejected by the some Americans… For some of the immigrants their migration can’t be accomplished as long as they don’t have   the American citizen. The easiest way to became American is to have relatives that are  citizens   of the country or to be educated or rich.The people that usually succeed in being American   citizen are the Asian. It’s the ethnic that has the highest level of migration since the beginning   of the 21 st  century. Before it was the Hispanics, but they have a lack of education UNLIKE THE   ASIANS THAT HAVE the highest level of education and are therefore the most prosperous   ethnic group. We can say that this group achieves its American dream. A s  a conclusion, we can say that the USA was, is and will always be the first destination of   immigrants. From a  decade to an other the face of Uncle's Sam's country changes: from white   Europeans, to Asians by way of Latinos. The face of Today's America doesn't   look nothing   tomorrow ’ s which  is  a mix of all the culture. Immigration is shaping the US.

  Despite that   yesterday’s immigrants and today‘s have the same aspirations: succeeding in integrating the   US, being an American citizen and most of all live their own American dream!!   Some ethnics  . »
