« DOSSIER PERSONNEL hello, I will present you my work, which is made of a few documents dealing with the axis love and friendship.

The first document is a book entitled "of mice and men," which tells the story of lenny and george.

The second is an extract from the play "romeo & juliet," act 5, scene 3, which portrays their tragic death.

The third document is a song by ariana grande entitled "we can't be friends," which tells her story with her ex-boyfriend.

The last document is a picture from the movie "the fault in our stars," depicting the final moment of the couple hazel and augustus before his passing.

These documents push us to wonder why are love and friendship so important in literature.

To answer this question, we will explore the positive impacts in the first part and the negative ones in the second part. In this first part, we are going to see the positive impacts and more precisely, that it linked people together and that it can be an emotional support.

Indeed, it linked people together.

As we can see in the first document, which is an extract from the book "Of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck which tells the story of two friends, Lennie and George, who are migrant workers during the Great Depression.

Lennie is mentally disabled but has enormous physical strength, while George is his loyal and protective friend.

Indeed, Lennie is affected by a mental illness, which sometimes leads to violent and challenging behavior.

As I mentioned before, he is very strong and sometimes unaware of his actions.

Lennie is like a child in an adult's body, meaning he tends to react impulsively and excessively.

He can be selfish at times and have tantrums over trivial matters.

His illness makes his life difficult.

It may seem daunting to take care of someone like Lennie because it requires patience, tact, and a great deal of understanding.

It's also important to know how to handle his outbursts, as he can react violently, and with his strength, he could easily harm or even kill someone.

However, George sees beyond the illness.

He sees a person with emotions who needs help.

Moreover, they have grown up together, which has allowed them to develop a bond despite his illness.

Here, the two characters are connected through his illness because it still makes him endearing from George's perspective.

He takes care of him and considers him a family member as we can see in this quote « We got each other ».

Furthermore, he would be willing to make the necessary sacrifices for Lennie's well-being.

In document 4, we see the same thing.

This document is actually a picture from the movie "The Fault in Our Stars," which is an adaptation of John Green's novel.

It's a story that follows the characters Hazel and Augustus, two teenagers with cancer, who fall in love with each other.

In this picture, they can be seen lying on a hospital bed, embracing each other.

Both characters have cancer, but it's the boy who is hospitalized, as indicated by his hospital attire.

Furthermore, we can notice a look of concern on his face while the girl appears to feel safe and comforted in his arms.

Their illness has bonded them, they met during a cancer support group session.

They love each other deeply and have gone through challenging times together.

Hazel, who was supposed to die first, ultimately lost her boyfriend Augustus before her.

These two documents showcase their mutual support, even in the face of adversity. Indeed, love and friendship can provide emotional support during challenging times.

When we are surrounded by love and friendship, we have someone to confide in, someone to share our joys and sorrows with.

It helps us feel understood, supported, and less alone.

This can contribute to our happiness and mental well-being.

Once again, the first and last documents show us the importance of support.

These two documents portray characters who are dealing with illnesses. Being sick is complicated and difficult to accept.

That's why having emotional support is crucial.

We often feel very lonely and misunderstood.

In the first document, Lenny finds support through his friendship with George.

George helps him feel reassured in moments of worry, panic, or fear.

Their friendship provides Lenny with a sense of security and trust, allowing him to face life's challenges.

This emotional support is important for Lenny as it helps him maintain mental stability and stability in life as well.

In the last document, it's the two main characters, Hazel and Augustus, who find emotional support in each other.

Indeed, both of these characters are dealing with cancer, which means they understand the challenges it brings and are going through the same thing.

They can support each other and understand each other more easily than if they were healthy individuals.

They share the same daily life and therefore the same worries.

They care about each other and their love helps them overcome all difficulties.

As we can see in this image, we can observe that this couple is always together.

Hazel stands by Augustus to support him in this difficult time and reassure him.

Her presence shows him that he can relax and feel at peace because she supports him and stays with him despite everything.

Illness is not an obstacle for her; she is not afraid to commit to taking care of him, even in his final moments.

Being together allows them to feel comforted.
