I blinked open my eyes and noticed I was back in my bedroom.
What the...? Standing up from my bed, I
groaned.
My whole back was sore and very sensitive.
Slowly walking forward, I heard voices from downstairs.
Leaning against the wall, my foot hit the last step.
Marshall, Hailie, and Nathan sat in my livingroom, watching
tv.
As soon as I turned my head, Hailie noticed me and shot up from her seat."Oh my gosh, you're awake! Are
you okay?" She gently tugged me over to the couch and made me sit down next to Nathan.
I shrugged and
placed a pillow behind me, trying to ease the pain."I guess, I mean, what happened?" Marshall's face dropped in
guilt as soon as the question left my lips.
I wanted to say something, but at the same time I don't want to cause
a scene in front of everyone."You...
Slipped on the wet concrete.
We called 911, you have two staples on the
side of your head," Marshall whispered, not making eye contact with anyone.I looked down at sighed, "I guess,
I'll get some sleep.
I'm really tired guys.
Sorry." Quickly standing up from their seats Nathan and Hai-Hai gave
me a hug goodbye and went to go wait out in the car.
As the front door shut, there was an awkward silence
between Marshall and I.I stood up and gasped when Marshall's hand came in contact with my arm.
The stupid
butterflies came back and I'm pretty sure my face was as red as a tomato.
Gently tugging me up, Marshall layed
a hand on my back softly."Let me help you," And I did.
As we reached my bedroom door Marshall stepped in
behind me.
Awkwardly taking a seat on the edge of my bed, I watched Marshall shut the door behind
him."Maddy," He spoke softly, making butterflies erupt in my stomach once again.
"I'm really sorry.
This is all
my fault.
If I wouldn't have ju--""No Marshall," I interrupted, making him freeze and look up at me.
"It wasn't
anyone's fault, it was an accident.
Just an accident, okay?"Marshall stood their for a few moments, before
hesitating to speak.
Adventually, he came and sat down next to me.
Looking up at me, he began
speaking."Madison, when....
When you fell and passed out, I-I felt scared.
A different kind of scared, like I didn't
wanna lose you.
You could've had a concussion.
And...
It would've been all my fault," I was speechless, at loss
for words.
After a few moments he shot up and ran his hands through his hair in frustration."What the fuck are.
