What if i were to tell you that the majority of students
would love to take a gap year but our current model of
society does not encourage this practice, they follow the
safest route.
When I ask them what do you like to do on
weekends, what is your passion?
They tell me things like, I like learning new languages or
discovering new places, making videos.
So I ask what they
plan to do after high school, they often tell me, I'm going to
become an engineer or a lawyer to please my parents and
make money.
So the problem comes from the feeling of obligation and
pressure that they put on the students, they are anxious for
their future, they no longer go to court to learn but to get
good grades that will allow them to graduate and thus have
a social status synonymous with success in our society but
this without following their real passion that animates
them.
No wonder 45% of students report depression.
So today I am going to make you aware of the advantages
of taking a gap year for the student.
The advantages of a gap year are numerous as long as you
take it for a good reason such as wanting to live your
passion, to make a new start and not to watch TV all day on
your couch.
A student who has taken a gap year to travel and learn a
new language will broaden his or her perspective on the
world and find a purpose in life, and will wake up in the
morning with envy.
In addition to this in the world of work it offers him a
relevant resume to get a job and this because he gets rare
and sought after qualities.
There are also many personal advantages, such as the
chance to get back to work later on, to (re)find oneself,.
