For years, there has been a separation amongst the races. This is the thought of one race or skin’s color has more abilities than another. So, some peoples feel superior to minorities. That discrimination is called racism and we have all witnessed that in our life. Racism existed in the 1900’s and with the help of characters who marked the world, it calmed down. Racism is one of the world’s major issues today. Many people are not aware that racism still exists and it’s coming back faster than before. It’s time that people need to open their eyes and need to start thinking about the solutions to this matter.
First and foremost, racism started when slavery began. Indeed, due to this colonization in Africa, the settlers thought that they were powerful and started to impose their rules on Africans. Thereby, in our society, racism began as soon as people faced those of different races. In my opinion, some peoples have the fear of change specially the unknown, so I think those peoples are the ones who are narrow-minded and don’t get united to everyone, no matter the skin’s color or the religion. 
Firstly, how racism makes its way into our society is through the almighty media. As the development of the society, media becomes an important factor of our lives and also a huge source of how racism is still here. We can take for example some shows like “Law and Order” or “NCIS: Los Angeles”. Whites are often represented as the “good persons” or the perfect citizens, while blacks are represented as the drugs dealers or criminals and the Arabic as terrorist. In a nutshell, media often target people of color or people who have others beliefs, sometimes with any short of evidence.
Secondly, the impact of racism today is something important to understand why racism is a major issue. Racism can isolate and exclude people, creating mistrust of others. To illustrate my point, the movie “The Help” shows perfectly the racism in the U.S. White peoples are thinking that they are superior, a woman even said that white peoples shouldn’t use the same bathroom as the blacks. This movie shows perfectly how black peoples are used and the creation of communities. Racism is also a problem in employment. Most of the time, the white people are always hired first. The most well-known example is the presidential in the U.S. nobody who has a skin color became president of the United States before B. Obama in 2009. However, it shows that the Americans are less racist but it means that it took time for them to finally trust and see that we are all equal no matter what.
To conclude, racism is not an ability that people are born with but it is based on the mind, the mentality of people. As obvious solution to this matter is the government. The government doesn’t only have to play the role of preventing the situation but also to reduce racism. Roughly, we have to start paying more attention to what’s going on around us and we should behave ourselves more as decent human beings. However, this does not mean that such attempts would put an end to racism because racism will always exist as long as we live because no one can control another human beings actions no matter what because that is obvious to humans.
