Dear Ms. Myrna,I am a divorced mother of 2 children.( A fourteen years old girl and an eight years old boy)  The Dad is nowhere in the picture. The girl has started to be mouthy and not tell me where she will be when she goes out.  She comes in late smelling of alcohol and I feel I am unable to keep her safe. She is setting a bad example for her brother and keeping me on edge. What should I do?  She is a tall, muscular girl and, frankly, I am afraid of her. Since I am at my wits end, I would appreciate it if you could give your advice as soon as possible.

Corn pone (sometimes referred to as "Indian pone") is a type of cornbread, made of a thick, malleable dough made of cornmeal or hominy grits, shaped by hand and then baked or fried in butter, margarine, lard or bacon grease.

Corn pone has been a staple of Southern U.S.

cuisine.

Typically corn pone is formed in two to three inch oval shapes and features a crunchy and/or chewy texture. The term "corn pone" is sometimes used as a noun to refer to one who possesses certain rural, unsophisticated peculiarities ("she's a corn pone"), or as an adjective to describe particular rural, folksy or "hick" characteristics (e.g., "corn pone" humor).

The term is sometimes intended as a pejorative, often directed at persons from rural areas of the southern and Midwestern U.S. So in the same way; with the only food that Celia really knew how to make, Corn Pone, we can easily find out Cecilia’s background.

I suppose that she’s actually from the Southern or Midwestern U.S.

and after watching the film, I can also suppose that she represents a character who doesn’t know how to behave like some of those people who are from rural areas of the Southern and Midwestern U.S.

That’s why the conversation between Celia and Minny was really sincere and doesn’t look like the one that between a host and a maid. 2.

The culture of Turkey varies depending on the region and the ethnic background of its inhabitants.

In the larger towns and cities of Turkey, like Izmir where I’m from, the culture is very similar to Europe in many ways.

It is part of the culture of Turkey for both men and women to work and the clothes worn by people in these parts of Turkey reflect western culture closely.

Turkish people living along the coastal towns who belong to the middle class look to Europe for their cultural ideals and a foreign visitor will easily feel at home here.

Ataturk took great measures to modernize the culture of Turkey, changing laws, dress codes and the educational system all of which had a great bearing on the culture of Turkey.

In addition to the similarity of the coastal towns’ inhabitants’ life styles to Europe, the foods are very similar too.

Especially in the western parts of Turkey, where olive trees are grown abundantly, olive oil is the major type of oil used for cooking.

With an example of an experiment, I can easily describe the characteristic of this region’s people, as oil go up when we add water in a glass, in case of a problem, those people always defend themselves even if they are unfair. 3.

Artichoke is one of the certain vegetables that my family uses often.

It has been the favorite food for my parents and also for my grandparents.

It is kind of a habit that they cook the stuffed artichoke with olive oil every week.

On the one hand, the reason for this habit is that the olive oil is very healthful for our health and on the other hand, this dish is very delicious.

I suggest to everyone to try it even for one time in their life, I’m sure that they will love it and agree with me. 4.

My grandmother is from Istanbul, from Marmara region.

The cuisine of the Marmara region displays basic characteristics of Mediterranean cuisine as they are rich in vegetables, herbs and fish.

Since my childhood, every time that I visit my grandmother she cooks Fish Soup for me. 250 gr small size fish, (ex: Smelt) (frozen, cleaned) 1/2 lemon juice 1/2 tsp lemon zest 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil Salt Pepper 3 cups hot water 3 tomatoes, peeled and diced 1 celery stick, cut in bite sizes. »
