Thank you for listening to our radio because today we go speak about the most popular
group of the world the beatels.
Beatlemania hits the U.S.
on February 9, 1964, when the Beatles appear on the Ed
Sullivan Show Forty percent of the country watches and soon after divides into camps of
worshipful fans, and critics upset by the boys' long hairstyles and beatnik attitudes.
The
fans win: on April 4, 1964, the Beatles hold the five top positions on the Billboard pop
chart, a feat never achieved before—or since.
In '65, Rubber Soul signals the band's first
movement beyond the musical mainstream.
On August 29, 1966, they give their last
concert in San Francisco.
Pressures on the group (and within it) are starting to show.
John
Lennon takes a few months off to appear in the film How I Won the War , and on the first
cover of Rolling Stone .
The Beatles were an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960.
The group's best-known lineup consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George
Harrison, and Ringo Starr.They released in early October 1962, the single "Love Me Do".
In
1963, they released the albums Please Please Me and With the Beatles, that both
maintained the top position for weeks.
In July 1965 , the Beatles released their second film,
Help!.
The soundtrack included the two singles: "Help!" and "Ticket to Ride".
Released in
December 1965, Rubber Soul has been hailed by critics as a major step forward in the
maturity and complexity of the band's music.
Revolver, released in August 1966, marked
another step in their career.The Beatles embraced an increasingly experimental approach
as they recorded Sgt.
Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, beginning in November 1966.
Among music critics, acclaim for the album was virtually universal.
Magical Mystery Tour
was released in early December 1967.
Issued in November 1968 , the White Album was
their first Apple Records album release.
Lennon announced his departure to the rest of the
group on september 1969.
Released six days after Lennon's declaration, Abbey Road sold
four million copies within three months
