« In the early 20th century, white europeans arrived with boats in South Aprica and colonies this country. They wanted to control the Afrikans and take position of the natural ressources. The black politicien were emprisoned by Aprikaners. They want to separete whit from black . In this oral présentation we are going to see how South Aprica Society has changed. Manqu 3 phrase Apartheid is an Afrikan's word was used by Afrikaners. This word was especially used in 1948 when the new government came to power. Apartheid means apartness, being apart and the separate development of the « races ». They were determined to separate the blacks from the whites. In 1950 the South-African population is divided in four categories Blacks, Whites, Indians, and mixed race. Pik Botha, white man, minister of Foreign Affairs prohibited coloureds to write laws. Black community was prevented from voting by whites. Afrikaners forced South Africans to use passbooks to work in a white area. In 1949, the Indians were forbade to have relations with white people by the laws. Blacks were obliged to live in ghettos by white politicians. Non-whites were compelled to attend different school by the Apartheid government. In 1953, the Bantu education act obliged Black community to learn the Afrikaner's language at school The Apartheid government prevent non whites from doing strike. Afrikaners compelled South Africans to do other jobs than white people Coloureds were prohibited to use the same public transports as whites. During apartheid in South Africa, sport helped end racial separation and unite the nation. Nelson Mandela wanted to free his country from apartheid and make everyone equal. He aimed to reconcile the country and raise awareness about unequal living conditions. Nelson was imprisoned for 28 years for being against the government The film "Invictus," directed by Clint Eastwood, tells the story of how Nelson Mandela used the 1995 Rugby World Cup to unite South Africa.
